History
The foundation stone was laid to a pioneering venture to manufacture soap in Sri Lanka in the year 1938, and soon became a proud showpiece in the decades that followed. Initially the soap was manufactured under the quality certification of the Coconut Research Scheme, an empowered authority in the yesteryears. The company was transformed to a public quoted company in year 1941. Rani Sandalwood a beauty therapy and Khomba Margosa herbal soap with a touch of nature's gifts pioneered the beauty soap segment and together with branded laundry soaps revolutionized the soap industry in Sri Lanka in the dynamic history of the company. Truly a Sri Lankan venture with a strong herbal heritage in an ayurvedic setting, grew to be a multi billion dollar company with many firsts to it's credit in the industry. The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC, now extend the ancient beauty therapy and herbal heritage in an ayurvedic stratosphere that provides personal care solutions blending nature gifts to give a touching modernistic experience to the discerning consumer.
